Restoration and interior fittings of a Renault Estafette from 1975
This Renault Estafette R2137 comes from the Vendée region. Dating from 1975, the body of this collector’s vehicle looked beautiful in appearance. But in the end, after dismantling, we found that it was much more attacked by corrosion than expected! These are the surprises of the trade!
This extensive corrosion forced the team to replace the front and rear fenders, the rear door panels and the sill. After a complete disassembly of the body and the replacement of damaged body parts, direction the paint booth to get back to color. It is a blue tint that has been chosen to give new youth to the Estafette R2137.
The engine, too, needed to be overhauled. Not being able to provide this type of mechanical intervention ourselves, we entrusted it to the hands of an expert.
During this time, the Atelier CVDC team was able to focus on finding spare parts (not easy given the year of the vehicle) and reforming the sheet metal of certain parts.
Once the crate was raised, we proceeded to insulate the interior walls and the ceiling. To complete the fitting out of our van, our teams installed paneling on the walls and a nice parquet floor.
After 4 months of work, and a budget of around 20,000 euros, the Renault Estafette R2137 leaves our workshop fully restored.
