The Eldorado is an iconic Cadillac model, first produced in 1952 in limited numbers. It was considered a luxury car. The first phases of the 9th-generation Cadillac Eldorado models saw the light of day in 1971. This model, whose floor we have renovated, is part of phase 3 of this generation.
Manufacture of a floor element
For this restoration project, we mainly focused on the floor of the Cadillac as well as paint and body work.
As the rear floor element cannot be found in spare parts from our suppliers or even new, we therefore manufactured this part in sheet metal, which had already been transformed.
To do this, many hours of work were necessary. To achieve a result like this, we had to adjust and create a body element whose realization requires rigorous know-how and experience. We also had to manufacture a bench seat.
We really appreciated the challenge imposed by this project. This work allowed us to apply our expertise and restore an outsized car (2200 kg for a 1974 Cadillac Eldorado!)
Minor repairs and painting
Following the repairs and renovations, we carried out bodywork and paint work on the beltline.
Regarding the bodywork, a little straightening work was necessary.
For the paint, a lot of research work was needed to be able to find a color that matched perfectly.
The car being repainted with a special color, it was complicated to reproduce it, but finally the result is there!
